The Gonstead Method
Gonstead Technique is often regarded as the gold standard of full spine chiropractic care. The system was developed by Clarence S. Gonstead, credited with over 2 million adjustments he may be the most experienced chiropractor history has seen. His life's work was to develop an efficient, effective, and safe analysis and adjusting technique known for its results.
Grounded in Biomechanics, Physiology and Neurology
The 5 steps of analysis provide certainty of the best care possible every visit. The practitioner's aim is to have the greatest positive affect with as little intervention as possible. Dr. Gonstead himself was a critic of chiropractors adjusting too many joints, too hard, and too often.
Instrumentation
Pressure on a nerve, overactive muscles, and inflammatory responses can all cause abnormal heat findings along the spine.
Static Palpation
Structural Symmetry, tissue texture, and muscular tone can all be affected by misalignment.
Motion Palpation
Misaligned joints don't move as well as they should and demonstrate a loss of function.
Visualization
Observations of posture, movement, and skin changes, such as redness and swelling, point towards the root cause of the complaint.
X-Ray Analysis
The signs of misalignment, disfunction, and degenerative change are well documented in X-ray analysis and provide the best plan for how to adjust the patient safely, and for the best results.
